Case Study: Moby

I had the opportunity to provide art direction to refine and elevate Moby's social media presence. Leaning into a renewed cultural interest in dance music from the 1990s, the refreshed style directs new listeners to Moby's deep discography while increasing connection by existing fans to Moby's advocacy and activism. Clips from the Moby Pod podcast form a major strategic pillar; these are carefully refined and supplemented with cutaways and archival content to capture scroll-sized attention spans.

Throughout the release of this content, Moby's Instagram following grew by over 70%.

The pieces below demonstrate the final version of the style guide as well as several pieces I personally created to execute this style. A personal favorite project was the rendering of several of Moby's signature doodle characters as a toolkit of animations for podcast clips.

Social style guide

Includes concept statement, workflow, style pillar moodboards, detailed standards for podcast clips, typefaces, and color palette. A corresponding toolkit was also delivered containing detailed editing, color, and texture best practices.
